Wild Coffee

There is a reason why Mother Nature has created the coffee plant in the rainforests of KAFFA: perfect environmental conditions like rainfall, the shade of trees, sunshine, soil rich in humus. More than 99% of all Arabica varieties globally are still in Ethiopia.

We are particularly committed to further develop agroforestry and maintain virgin forests. Especially indigenous trees are of paramount importance. Between these trees we can grow our coffee plants in the shade. 

Deforestation is a significant topic worldwide as well as in Ethiopia and requires actively addressing the topic and providing specific solutions. For this we are closely cooperating with “Restor”, a development and organisation of the ETH Zurich. In this we can effectively and actively measure our “sustainability”.
